☆ 今日の注目ポイント

UBSはスイスの大手銀行で
略さずに書くと「Union Bank of Switzerland」です。
ロゴぐらいは見た方もいるかも知れませんが、投資銀行なので
馴染みはあまりないですね。この不況でかなり苦しそうですが…

「shed」が動詞として使われています。
名詞として「小屋（日よけshadeから来ている？）」などでよく見ますが
「人を解雇する」としても使われます。
ビジネスニュースだと、言い換え単語としてそれなりに出てきます。

CEOは「Chief Executive Officer」でもう日本でもお馴染み、
名ばかりのCEOが多すぎて、最近日本では
CEOの名は廃れてきてる感じもします。

今日は「shed」が解雇にも使われるんだぁ
というぐらいしかトピックがないですが、1日これで十分ですね！

☆ あとがき

大幅な企業の人員削減が続きます。

雇用は相当苦しそうです。

景気が回復してきても、雇用というのは最後に回復するので

失業者はこれからも増えそうですね。

最近、失業者や一時休業が盛んなため（GW16連休も！？）、

自己啓発に取り組むことが脚光を浴び始めています。

英語を改めて勉強しようとしている方も多いようです。

いますが、文字通りには、「9千人近くの(nearly)更なる（more）～」→
「９千人近くの追加人員削減」です。
